Questions and Answers
Question: Do I need a website address or "Domain Name" before I sign up for a website?
Answer: Yes, you must buy a domain name for your website before you register. We do this to make sure you own your domain name. Please visit
GoDaddy.com for purchasing your domain name.
Question: How soon can I start expecting leads?
Answer: This will depend heavily on a few factors. How many listings are in your market? If you chose a very large county or city site with 5,000 listings, leads may start faster than if you have a subdivision site with only 60-100 listings. If you do not market or promote your site when you first get it you may not have leads come in for the first few months as the site grows. Think of this system as an investment in your business and it will snowball in size over time.
Question: Can I do anything to make my website start generating leads faster?
Answer: YES!!!
After your site is setup and running go to Twitter.com and create a free account if you don't already have one. After creating your account go to the top of the page where it says "What's happening?" and type your entire web address as follows... "http://www.YOURDOMAINNAME.com" example "http://www.SearchBuford.com" ...and hit the "Tweet" button to post that message. Even if no one is following you on Twitter this will work. It is a GREAT first step.
Question: What if I want to target more than one area?
Answer: These sites are built to market and promote one specific area for you, if you want more than one area you have to purchase more than one site.
Question: Can I add my picture to the site or do anything "custom"?
Answer: No, these sites are built so you do not need or have to do anything to them. The only thing we ask is you promote the site as best you can but even that is optional.
Question: What if another agent aleady has one of these sites in my market?
Answer: Don't worry, these sites are built to work together in larger markets. Just remember we can never eliminate all of your competition but we can bring it all "in-house". In some cases of smaller subdivisions the number of sites are restricted due to the number of leads per month on average.
Question: What if it has been 6 months and I have not gotten any closings?
Answer: Please contact us so we can discuss your strategy for marketing the site and also how you are communicating with your internet leads. These sites are priced so even if you go an entire year and only close one deal you still make a profit. If you ever decide to cancel your site just remember there is no contract so you can cancel at any time.
Question: Can I wait until the site is generating leads to receive a bill?
Answer: No, as soon as your site is created we are charged a hosting fee. This fee is to store the site, server, images and databases to manage your new web presence. Your billing is started the day we create your site and you are prorated from the day it is created to the first of the month so your first bill will be slightly higher than the monthly fee above based on what day your site is built.
Question: If I do not receive any leads one month can I get a discount?
Answer: No, regardless of the performance you must pay your full monthly hosting fee.
Question: I'm not finding my site on the first page of any search engine for my area?
Answer: Getting to the first page of a search engine can take time, be patient. The sites use a special type of internet marketing and search engine optimization to make sure they are found in other ways. Even if you're not on the first page people are still finding you.
Question: How do I know if my site is growing?
Answer: This is an easy one. Go to Google.com and search for this phrase without quotes and using your domain name... "site:yourdomain.com" example. "site:searchbuford.com" ...doing this will show you how many pages Google has "indexed" from your site. This means if you have 1,000 pages indexed than you have 1,000 chances of being found. The larger the number of results the larger your site has become.
Question: How do I know if anyone is visiting my site?
Answer: At the very very bottom of every KWWD site created there are two numbers. The smaller number is how many "independent and individual" people have seen your site and the larger number is how many pages have been viewed on your site. The faster these numbers grow the better your site is doing.
Question: If I need to make changes to the information on my site what do I do?
Answer: e-mail Matt Rains at mattrains@kw.com with the subject line "KWWD website change" and include your needed changes in the body. The changes should take effect within 3-4 days. Note: Only basic changes to the information that is already on your site can be done. ie. (phone number, email, name)
Question: I work on a team, can both of our information be put on the site?
Answer: Partially yes, We have many sites that are team based. You have one line on the site for your name so when you register make your first name "name 1" and the last name "and name 2" so when the site is built it will show up as "Contact Matt and Anne". There is only one place for an e-mail and phone number so only one of each will be included on the site.
Question: What if I want a subdivision site but it has under 60 listings?
Answer: We do not recommend having any site with less than 75 listings but it is completely up to you if you want to register one.
Question: After I register for my site is there anything else I have to do?
Answer: Yes, after you register you will get an email with step by step instructions on how to change your domain names DNS servers. This process is very easy and completed daily by your fellow agents. Please read through the entire e-mail and follow the instructions. Your website will
not be complete until you have made these changes. If you purchased your domain name from GoDaddy then you will need to login to your GoDaddy account to make the changes.
Question: I have more questions!?
Answer: That is great and we will be happy to answer them, just contact mattrains@kw.com. Please allow up to one week for your response.
